3 days of dosing are required

  • For patients at risk of CINV due to HEC or MEC, EMEND always should be taken on Days 1, 2, and 3 of each cycle, in combination with a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist and a corticosteroid, even if patients do not experience nausea and vomiting on Day 1.
  • All 3 doses of EMEND are required for the full 5 days of CINV protection.

  • Explain the importance of taking EMEND on Days 2 and 3 of every cycle, even if patients do not experience nausea and vomiting on Day 1.
  • Remember that the ACT Program is available to provide assistance to qualified patients.
  • Ensure that managed care and Medicare patients know that EMEND usually is covered:

    EMEND has favorable formulary status

    • 96% of patients with managed care plans have EMEND on Tier 2 or Tier 3.
    • 100% of patients with Medicare Part D plans have EMEND on Tier 2 or Tier 3.
